Yuri rides off to war with her party, which consists of her servants (Hadi, Shalla and Ryui), all three generals (Mettannamuwa, Lucifer and Kashu) and Iru Bani.  The first pages of this book are the first we see of Shimshenk, Yuri’s faithful hawk. 

She accomplishes her goal of stopping insurgents in the east fairly quickly and with out much conflict.  Armed with their good looks, dance and music they manage to lure the residing leader into a special live performance.  During the performance the girls get the army drunk while Yuri dances and Iru Bani plays and instrument and sings.  This makes their task all that much easier as all eyes are on Yuri’s seductive dance while the other girls carefully disarm the men in the room.  After a seducing the leaders sword from him for a dance Yuri pulls it on him showing him that she has effectively disarmed the entire room.  Shimshenk then flies up to signal the rest of the army to advance.  A short time later the battle is over and the town secured. 

After saving the town Alexandria, Daughter of the rightful ruler, asks to see Ishtar intending to give herself to him.  She is quite surprised to find Yuri and her servants. 

Interspersed with the story of Yuri are updates on Kail’s battle.  He finds things that remind him of Yuri and the fact that he will not see her again (as does Yuri during her campaign). 

Since her campaign went quickly, Yuri heads back to the Hattusa early.  While she is on her way we learn that Nakia has fiendishly decided to build a temple over the well that Yuri needs to return home. 

In the last chapter Kail is advancing in battle only to be shot by Ramses in the chest.  Simultaneously the headband that Kail gave to Yuri breaks and falls off Yuri’s head. 
 

Lucifer hands Yuri back the broken headband and everyone seems to think it’s a bad omen.  Yuri then has to decide whether she wants to go home or find out if Kail is ok.  After some reflection on the situation she ultimately decides to head to the battlefield where Kail is.  She pauses looking towards the horizon asking her family to wait for her. 

During this time Nakia continues to build her temple over the water well unbeknownst to the Yuri and her contingent. 

Kail’s wound seems to be less sever than at first thought.  I believe it’s because the arrow hit a small stone tablet he had been carrying in a pouch, apparently from Yuri.  He is not able to fight however and only watches over the battle. 

In a moment of reflection on the broken tablet pieces he realizes that Yuri must have gone home by now.  At that moment the soldiers notice the “morning star” on the horizon.  Much to Kail’s surprise Yuri shows up on the battlefield complete with her contingent surrounding the Egyptian army.  Ramses recognizes her as well.  With the renewed energy of the Hittite army and the fact that they are now completely surrounded, the Egyptians retreat. 

As they retreat Yuri rides up to Kail and jumps off Aslan at him.  Kail assumes she is jumping into his arms but she grabs his cape and pushes it aside as she lands to reveal his wound.  Kail seems a bit upset that she has come to see him instead of heading to the spring to be sent home.  However, when he asks her if she understands what she’s done she says she does.  I believe he says he will never let her go. 

Back at the palace the maids hijack Yuri for a bath before dinner.  She seems reluctant but concedes insisting on bathing alone.  After the bath they dress her for dinner.  At dinner Kail gets a bit touchy feely and eventually takes her back to his room. 

Yes… next they have sex.  Yuri still doesn’t like the prospect at first (probably because she is loosing her virginity) but eventually gives in when Kail says he loves her. The next morning when Kail comes out he tells everyone that plans to marry her and make her his queen. Everyone is really excited. 

Later as Ryui and Shala are picking up clothes to wash we see Lucifer pick up one of Yuri’s capes.  It’s clear he is in love with her.  Kashu walks in as Lucifer is saying Yuri’s name an confronts Lucifer about it. 

Meanwhile Nakia is working on her plan to prevent Yuri from staying with Kail.  She has invited Empresses from all around to the palace.  I am not so clear what happens here but I know that they are all after the position of Kail’s queen.  One of the girls is Alexandria from Arzawa. 

Other than Alexandria none of the girls seem to like Yuri.  In fact they are down right mean at times.  Kail tries to reassure Yuri but she still has her doubts.  In an attempt to show she is worthy she dresses up and does a dance for dinner.  On the last page of the book Yuri’s dress comes un done and threatens to fall to the floor making her naked in front of everyone.
